SHARNBROOK DELI CAFÉ
Our Suppliers
We LOVE to support local and green suppliers where we can.
It's been such a wonderful journey over the past years introducing and meeting the people behind the amazing tasting goods. Over the years we have tried and tested different products to see what works for our customer base which has given us a great opportunity to meet our local community of suppliers and work with some fantastic individuals that are experts in their fields.

Wooden Hill Coffee Company (Bedfordshire)

Was set up in 2015 and named after the local expression “up the wooden hill to Bedfordshire”.
We are a small artisan coffee roaster in Millbrook, near Ampthill, roasting Fairtrade, Direct Trade and Speciality Coffee beans. We roast our unique blend of Fairtrade coffee beans and package them in compostable bags - we have been plastic free since before day one, some years before the documentaries were made! We also deliver to our local customers in reusable wooden crates, eliminating the need for cardboard boxes and for every 100kgs of coffee we sell we plant a tree at the Forest of Marston Vale, a nearby Community Forest.
We also supply several Zero Waste shops in the area and deliver the coffee in airtight reusable containers.

Natures Fayre (Northamptonshire)
We are a small producer with only the two of us involved in the production of our products. We have a selection of products including honey, flavoured honey, marmalades, preserves, chutneys, pickles, dressings and sauces. All our products are made by replacing some of the sugar with honey in the recipes. All the honey that we use comes from our own hives, situated within a few miles of where we live. Many of the ingredients we use have been grown for us by family or by ourselves and where possible all other ingredients are locally sourced. All products are made using traditional methods in small batches to ensure great taste and quality.
In 2021 our Honey & Three Fruit Marmalade won Gold in the World Marmalade Awards and also Silver for our Honey, Lemon & Ginger Marmalade. In 2019 our Honey, Orange & Brandy Marmalade won Silver in the World Marmalade Awards and our Pink Grapefruit, Cranberry & Vodka won Silver. In 2017 our Honey, Lemon & Ginger Marmalade was awarded the ‘Artisan Local Sweet Product of the Year’ category in the Carlsberg UK Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards 2017/18.
Abs Bakes (Northamptonshire)

Two Farmers Crisps (Herefordshire)
Truly passionate about the Herefordshire countryside that has enabled them to grow award-winning potatoes, founders Sean and Mark met one night for a pint of local beer and a packet of crisps. They hatched out a plan of how to honour and celebrate these potatoes and that night the Two Farmers brand was born.
We grow, harvest, store, cook and pack our crisps. We maintain control throughout each process to ensure you receive the finest end product. We are committed to giving back to the environment, which is why we keep our road miles low and use 100% compostable packaging. Our aim is to promote Herefordshire as a county of outstanding agricultural achievement.
Woods Bakery (Bedfordshire)
We have been in business now for over 33 years, over
half of them in our unit in Pegasus Mews.
We started trading in Potton road Biggleswade, next to the gardeners’ arms pub, but in 2005 we moved to a
purpose built unit in Stratton business park Biggleswade.
We are essentially a family run business with 8 members of the family involved working in the business and with the loyal help of the mainly long term staff we run a wholesale bakery.
Our business is mainly the wholesale production of breads, rolls and morning goods for delivery to customers in the local area. We do have a market stall on Biggleswade market every Saturday which has grown over the years and has a regular customer base.
Twist Teas (Hertfordshire)
Pollards Farm in Harpenden - the home of Twist Teas. We're a family business started by Mother and Daughter, Nicky & Claire, and Claire's school friend, Fraser.
In January 2017, we decided to do something really innovative for lovers of tea and set about creating a range of the finest whole leaf teas, herbs and fruits, blended to delight taste buds and bring a smile to its drinkers. Frankly, we were a little underwhelmed by the teas available in the supermarkets (and a little disappointed to learn that even the cutesy, more expensive brands are invariably just owned by the massive brands anyway.)
Our blends are full of little surprises that make them different. An additional ingredient with a functional benefit…or an unconventional flavour pairing that transforms something nice into something spectacular.
Now, we have a range of over 50 delicious, healthy and innovative blends that are available direct through our website, and in cafes, restaurants, hotels, offices and independent retailers all over the UK.
The Confectionist (Northamptonshire)
Dawn, The Confectionist has been creating handmade confectionery for over 25 years, we are incredibly innovative at producing bespoke confectionery and chocolate in Irthlingborough, Northamptonshire.
As an award-winning creator, we are always looking for something out of the norm. We strive to support small businesses within the Northamptonshire area.
Dawn was born and bred in the North East of England, her career started in the catering industry running a social enterprise cafe in a small mining village, unemployment in the area was high, so we started to explore other enterprises in areas that weren't that popular at the time, to create opportunities for those less fortunate. After a few years developing handmade confectionery and chocolate we found that very quickly we couldn't keep the products on the shelves and needed to employ people to stabilise the growth of the business, from that came 6 full time staff, and during seasonal periods up to 20 staff.
Dawn is mostly proud of her Edible Honeycomb Coal which originally was developed for Selfidges in London,
Now settled in Northamptonshire, The Confectionist was created and the passion and ambition to create something out of the norm still stands the same as it did over 25 years ago just as it all started.
Just Biscuits (Buckinghamshire)
Just Biscuits by Jilly started life by converting an abandoned chicken shed in Stoke Mandeville to a delightful kitchen, with some 'mod-cons' but mostly hard working hands. And then over the years we've met other like minded farmers and producers to focus on Just Biscuits.

For as long as I can remember, I've always dreamed about running my own business making just biscuits, including working with like minded producers to source the finest quality ingredients.
Today, we are a family team making small batches of handmade sweet and savoury biscuits, all made with simple honest ingredients.
We don't add anything nasty, that's a promise, and we always bake fresh to order. So kick back, put the kettle on and enjoy!

Lally Juice (Bedfordshire)
So how was Lally Juice invented?....Okay… it’s time to get personal. Our co-founder Philip was in the shower one day and had a moment of inspiration (did you know that all of the world’s greatest ideas have originated in the shower?!). To create a drink that was a little different to the rest on the shelf, a Happy Alternative. After drying off, a lot of research and a tonne of brain-storming later, Lally Juice was born.Fruit based and sparkling yumminess with the fun and happiness at its core!
Our special and unique ingredient....
Despite its name Oregon Grape does not produce grapes but is a flowering herb. Instead, its root and stalk contain active plant compounds. Oregon Grape Root can be found in a variety of products intended for oral or topical use, including supplements, extracts, oils, and creams.
We love Oregon Grape Root so decided to put it in our drink.
